Patching Oracle EPM 11.1.2.3 to 11.1.2.3.500 & HFM 11.1.2.3.502

Oracle EPM 11.1.2.3 is came up with lots of patch’s months back. Here we I will show how to patch for 11.1.2.3.500 from EPM 11.1.2.3.

The prerequisites of this activity are as follows:

  1. EPM server with EPM 11.1.2.3 Foundation Installed & Configured.
  2. HFM should be installed & configured in the same server.
  3. Essbase should be installed & configured in the same server.
  4. Download EPM Patch 11.1.2.3.500 from either OTN or E-Delivery.

    2. E-Delivery: https://edelivery.oracle.com/
      1. Login using your credentials i.e. OracleID.
      2. Go to “Patch & Update” and go to “search” tab.
      3. Enter Patch number : 17529887 & Platform: Your OS Windows/Linux (HSS).
        This patch is per-requisite for HFM 11.1.2.3.502.
      4. Enter Patch number : 19552896 & Platform: Your OS Windows/Linux (HFM).

Edelivery                        2. Download the Patch.

Now lets proceed with the steps to patch 11.1.2.3.500 in our environment.

  1.  Unzip the zip file 17529887_WIN64 & p19552896_11123000_MSWIN x86-64 in the OPatch path of oracle EPM i.e. C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\OPatch.Zip The Downloaded File
  2. When you are done with the extraction of the patch files to OPatch folder. Open the Command prompt as administrator.Cmd as Admin
  3. Change the directory to Opatch directory.  “cd C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\OPatch.”
  4. Now to apply the patch we will execute the “opatch.bat” batch file with parameters to the patch files.
    Syntax: Opatch.bat apply <patchfoldername> -oh <Path> -jre <Path>   Example:C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\OPatch>opatch.bat apply 17529887_WIN64 –oh C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1 -jre C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_35

  6. Once the patch is successful you will get that Success message.

Start the services & open workspace. Check the version of EPM going to Help>About Oracle EPM System Workspace, Fusion Edition.11.1.2.4.500
